7. Does marketability play a factor in your coverage?
Yes and no. It is part of the criteria with which screenplays are analyzed, and it's a well know fact that a large majority of produced screenplays can be considered works of a certain genre or another.
However, it is only one facet of our coverage, and quirky/offbeat or anti-commercial scripts are very welcome on our desks. If for nothing else, it breaks the monotony, and such scripts are increasingly in demand these days, anyway. It is also an official position of this organization that good writing will be successful writing, no matter the subject.

We are not an agency or a production house. If we feel your script is exceptional, we may be able to point you in the right direction, obviously at no charge or obligation to you.

9. How do I protect my script from copyright infringement?
The most important question comes last. It is recommeded that you take all necessary precautions to protect your script. The best two lines of defense are registrations with the Writer's Guild of America and the United States Copyright Office. While it may be true that most writers use one or the other, registration with both makes the most sense, considering the time and effort you've invested in your idea.
